SMILE365 WORLD CUP GAME TO SUPPORT SMALL CHARITIES
The HEY Smile Foundation is using the fun of the World Cup to highlight the love for small charities across East Yorkshire!
In partnership with our Smile365 members, we’ll be giving grants out to local charities based on the World Cup results.
Here’s how it works:
Individuals and businesses need to tell us their favourite small charity based in East Yorkshire via Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram (make sure you tag Smile) and we’ll draw 16 at random to represent the last 16 World Cup teams.
Thanks to our Smile365 members, all 16 charities will be guaranteed a grant, with one lucky charity receiving £1,966 (to represent the last time England won), or £2,018 if England win the World Cup this year. This headline grant will be funded by Smile365 members Nippon Gohsei and Sargent Electrical.
We will use each game to highlight the work of the two charities ‘competing’ in each match, as their footballing counterparts battle it out on the pitch.
The grants will be allocated as follows:
- £50 will be given to each losing team/charity at the last 16 stage. Winners will go forward to the next stage.
- Get knocked out at the quarter finals and the losing represented charities will receive a grant of £75.
- Losing charities in the semi-finals will receive a £150 grant.
- The losing finalist will receive £684.00.
- The Small Charity World Cup Winner will receive a grant of £1,966, or if England win the World Cup (!) it will be £2,018.
