SARGENT ELECTRICAL GRANTS
Summer/Winter Grants
Summer and winter grants are funded by Sargent Electrical, a family-run business and major partner of the HEY Smile Foundation. They see the true value in our approach to community engagement. The grants provide a large number of local groups with the funding they needed to deliver services across Beverley and the surrounding areas.
Here are some local charities/community groups they've supported:
Dove House – Regular donations of memory boxes for children going through bereavement.
Kingston ABC – Donated all the electrical components for the Smile coordinated refurbishment.
Men in Sheds – Donated a variety of electrical components for the Smile coordinated transformation.
Tyas Foundation – A group founded by a Sargent Electrical staff member's relative – the team organises regular dress down days to raise funds for them.
Downright Special – Purchased three iPads for them, and offer regular support, including sponsoring their Christmas Party in 2016.
The Vault – One of the first businesses to pledge £1000 to help Smile build the Vault service. They continue to support the project by purchasing additional equipment, most recently a silent disco.
Health Stars – Supported various groups of the Humber NHS Foundation's Trust charity, including trips to South Cave Falconry, Christmas Pantomine and Sewerby Hall.
Special Stars – Provided grants for Children’s specialist play equipment.
St Stephen's Neighbourhood – Purchased a variety of kitchen equipment.
Stephen Hughes Foundation – Sponsorship of the final of a football fundraising event.
Woodmansey Woodlets – Summer Grant for garden refurbishment. Sargent Electrical team members also volunteered.
City of Hull Special Swimming Group – Donation for the Blackpool Special Swimming Gala
Hull Arthritis Charity – Winter Grant – Purchased hot chocolate and made a financial donation for Christmas activities.
East Yorkshire Guides – Grant towards the ‘Big Guide’s Bash 2016.’
Endike Community Care – Grant for Dementia Summertime event ‘bringing the beach to you.’
Hornsea Art Society – Winter Grant - Funding for an art exhibition.
Dorchester Parents Group – This group raises funds to host events and day trips for residents from the Bransholme area in Hull. Sargent Electrical provided a grant for a series of gymnastics clubs.
Hornsea Nursery School – Provided funding for children's gymnastics clubs.
Anlaby Park Community Library – Funding for a hearing loop and toys for playgroup.
Walton Street Leisure – Summer Grant – Table Tennis Club, room hire funding.
Kingston Gym Club – Summer Grant for gymnastics clubs during holidays.
Hornsea Burton Primary School – Summer Grant for sports equipment.
Maxlife Youth Project – Summer Grant for youth sessions.
Ings Ladies Group – Summer Grant for curling stones.
Time 4 U Women’s Group – Summer Grant for speakers to attend their sessions.
Avenue Badminton Club – Summer Grant for youth badminton sessions.
Kinloss Park FC – Summer Grant for football games.
West Hull Bowls Club – Summer Grant for bowls events to be held in the summer.
Beverley & District U3A – Winter Grant for Christmas party.
Hull People’s Memorial – Winter Grant to help with research costs.
Ottringham Computer Club – Winter Grant towards help with running the club.
Driffield Methodist Church – Winter Grant for them to put a pantomime.
Toll Gavel Church – Winter Grant for Christmas party.
Aim Higher – Funding for inclusive family day out in Hall Garth Park, Hornsea.
Hornsea Youth Club – Summer Grant for equipment to run a series of sports days.
Hull Visual Choir – Funding towards choir practice sessions.
