£830,000 to support communities across the East Riding. Could your organisation help make a difference?

We’re pleased that HEY Smile Foundation is working with East Riding of Yorkshire Council on the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF), and we’re inviting expressions of interest from charities, CICs, voluntary and community organisations working across the East Riding.

We know how tough things are for many households right now. But this funding isn’t just about helping people through an immediate crisis. It’s about addressing the reasons people find themselves struggling and helping build longer-term resilience.

What could the funding support?
We’re particularly interested in organisations delivering, or looking to develop, projects around:
✅ Financial resilience – budgeting, income maximisation, benefits access and debt prevention.
✅ Food resilience – community pantries, affordable food, cooking skills and reducing reliance on emergency food.
✅ Advice and outreach – reaching people who struggle to access services, particularly in rural and coastal communities.
✅ Housing security – helping people sustain tenancies and preventing homelessness.
✅ Wellbeing and independence – reducing isolation, supporting vulnerable households and building confidence.
✅ Digital inclusion and learning – improving digital skills, employability and access to essential services.
✅ Community resilience – developing volunteers, strengthening local networks and testing new approaches to tackling hardship.

Who are we looking for?
Organisations that:
• Work with residents across the East Riding who may be experiencing or at risk of financial hardship.
• Can demonstrate a genuine community need.
• Have practical ideas that deliver measurable outcomes.
• Can deliver activity by 31 March 2027.
• Add value to existing services rather than duplicate them.

And this isn’t just for the bigger charities.

Some of the best community work happens in small, volunteer-led organisations. If you know your community, understand the challenges people face and have an idea that could make a difference, we want to hear from you.

We’re also keen to encourage organisations to work together and make better use of existing local services.

Interested?

Send an email to crf@heysmilefoundaton.org with a brief outline of your organisation, where you work, who you support and what you’d like to deliver.

This is an initial expression of interest, with formal funding arrangements still subject to agreement.

We have a real opportunity to get resources into local communities and strengthen the organisations making a difference every day.
Please share this with your networks across the East Riding.
