CORNERHOUSE CARE PROJECT
Smile were challenged with helping to make a safe environment for sexually exploited young people across Hull and East Yorkshire a reality. The Care Project had been struggling to find appropriate venues to talk confidentially to these vulnerable youths so desperately in need of support.
The project now has a fully refurbished flat – a slice of normality and warm, comfortable safe haven. The challenge was delivered on time and at a fraction of the cost expected thanks to funding from the Tribune Trust and support from MKM, Ideal Standard, Hull Flooring, Electric String, Andy Elliot Joinery and volunteers and resources from Robertson’s community team.
Smile continues to support the Care Project by providing supplies for the flat via our business supporters, such as surplus products from F+T Vending, and toiletries and clothing funded by Nippon Gohsei.
The project is also a recipient of the Smile Easter and Christmas Appeals.
