Celebrating digital inclusion across our region
This morning, we joined our partners at KCOM for the Digital Inclusion Impact Event, where the latest recipients of the KCOM Digital Inclusion Grants were announced. The event brought together inspiring past recipients – including Carers’ Support Centre; Kids Disabled Children Say We Can; City of Hull Sports & Community Group; Creative Briefs; Goodwin Development Trust; Reel Creative; Humber Wellbeing Hub; Run With It; and Pickering & Ferens Homes – to showcase their incredible achievements over the past year.
Through our ongoing partnership with KCOM, we’re proud to announce the latest recipients of this valuable funding, each leading innovative initiatives to promote digital accessibility and empowerment across Hull and East Yorkshire:
Age UK Hull & East Yorkshire
Funding will support social groups, training sessions, fundraising events, and community activities. With access to tablets, projection, sound systems, and visual media, participants will learn about scam prevention and digital confidence using technology that feels familiar.
Shores Homecare Ltd
This project will establish a community learning culture, enabling individuals to gain accredited vocational skills in health and social care. Blending e-learning with face-to-face facilitation, it will help people prepare for employment and volunteering opportunities.
Sight Support Hull & East Yorkshire
Funding will go towards their Technology Training Officer role, which delivers vital digital skills and assistive technology training for people with visual impairments.
Together, these projects are helping more people connect, learn, and thrive through technology – creating a more inclusive and digitally empowered community.
