Trustees’ Week Spotlight: Neil Gammon, Health Tree Foundation
Championing Improvement for Patients and Families
As Trustees’ Week continues, we’re recognising those who dedicate their time and skills to support local healthcare. This spotlight features Neil Gammon, the Independent Chair of the Health Tree Foundation Trustees – the charitable arm of the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.
Becoming a Trustee
The journey into trusteeship came naturally after many years of involvement with the NHS Trust. Neil says, “I became a trustee as I was familiar with the role and wished to stay in contact with the Trust upon retiring as a Non-Executive Director. I felt that it was a worthwhile voluntary activity where I could make a positive difference for patients and their families.”
Words of Advice for Future Trustees
Asked for advice for anyone considering taking on a trustee role, their encouragement is clear and reassuring: “Don’t be daunted by the seeming complexities of the role, as there are plenty of people and organisations who will be able to help with any questions you may have.”
