About the fund:

RB is driven by its purpose to protect, heal and nurture in a relentless pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world. We fight to make access to the highest-quality hygiene, wellness and nourishment a right, not a privilege, for everyone.

To support local communities across Hull & East Yorkshire during Covid-19, RB is working with Forum and HEY Smile Foundation to facilitate a new small grant programme. This programme will support local-led ideas that will support individuals to have:  

  • A healthier and active lifestyle
  • Improved self-care and resilience
  • Access to nutritional food

Types of projects we are looking to support:

This is a new grant programme looking to support local groups that understand their community. Applicants can arrange a conversation before submitting their application by emailing hive@heysmilefoundation.org or Jane.Thompson@nbforum.org.uk.

Amount of funding and length of project:

Funded projects must address immediate needs. Funded projects should also address ongoing support for people, either within the organisation or by referral to another organisation.

Value of awards will be between £500-£5,000.

Application deadline:

We anticipate all funds to be allocated within 2-3 months. Applications will be considered within three weeks of submission.

Who can and cannot apply:

We welcome applications from voluntary groups, registered charities, constituted groups, sports clubs, companies limited by guarantee and Community Interest Companies.

Organisations must be registered on Beecan to evidence eligibility by providing governing documents and accounts (if operating for more than 12 months). Support will be provided during application process and if a conditional grant offer is made.

This grant programme cannot support statutory bodies, schools, profit making businesses, individuals, sole traders and organisations that distributes profits to shareholders and Directors.

What you can spend the money on:

Funding will support direct delivery costs, capital equipment and if required core costs to manage the project.

Assessment criteria:

We aim to make the process accessibility and focused on ideas led by the community. Each application will be assessed within the following areas:

Experience: Proposed project is deliverable, builds on practical knowhow with knowledge of complementary services.

Need: Good observation of local challenges and understanding of what works well within their community.

Difference: The project understands what needs to change and demonstrate a difference has been made.

Budgets: Request for funding is clearly linked to the project and the amount required is value for money.
