Nestled in the heart of Bridlington, a town marked by beautiful coastlines, stands The Crown Community Centre. The Crown building was repurposed in 2022, when it was transformed from the outdated Job Centre to the thriving shared Community-space it is today.
Managed by HEY Smile Foundation, The Crown Community Centre has allowed local voluntary, community and health organisations to flourish, delivering their services from a single site. This not only saves costs for non-profit organisations but enables residents and service users to access the support they need in one place.
The Crown Community Centre is home to many fantastic organisations and charities including, The Hinge Centre, Careers Plus Yorkshire, Together Women, Bemer Group as well as hosting the Bridlington Primary Care Network.
HEY Smile Foundation is on a mission to grow the Crown Community and offer more services and support to lots more people in Bridlington.
The organisations currently using the Crown Community fill the building with life and we want to share this feel-good factor with other voluntary groups, those who may be looking for a base to support the community, run activities or health related sessions, or groups who may need a one-off space for meetings, conferences or presentations.
The Hinge and Carers Plus Yorkshire are just a couple of the great examples of how the Crown Community Building has empowered the Voluntary sector to expand its reach and support some of the most vulnerable members of the community, to access the help and support they need.
Regular activities at the Crown Community Centre currently include tea and toast, feel good Fridays, care for a cuppa all hosted by Cares Plus, monthly Death Cafes, monthly Dementia drop ins, Waste not Wednesdays run by The Hinge and a whole host of different sessions and group support through The Hinge.
