A few days later, we are still on a high after our ‘Touch of Magic’ Smile Ball on Friday.
Anyone who works in events knows how much time and effort goes into delivering something special for their guests, and this was no exception.
There are so many people and businesses that helped make the evening a success, helping us keep costs to a minimum, enabling us to raise a magical £23,400 after costs.
Therefore, we would like to take a moment to give thanks to those special people and businesses:
Our charity committee for supporting Smile’s Partnerships Team, Tessa Wray and Alice Edmondson – Danielle Rice of Hugh Rice; Penny Lamming, Napoleons Casino; Kevin Wilkie, Umber Creative; Steve Degg, Metro Bank; Mark Waite, Barclays.
Umber Creative, for bringing the ideas to life and producing the fun and memorable Touch of Magic collateral, including the giant game prop playing cards, which went on to see one lucky person win a Magical Holiday to a destination of their choice!
Madl, Nisa Retail’s Charity (now part of Co-op Group), Making a Difference Locally, for sponsoring our very special VIP Table, which provided both fun and funds, raising over £1,300, and giving our 11 furry VIPs new homes!
Steve Degg, who doubled up as committee member and auctioneer, helping to raise over £11,000.
DoubleTree by Hilton and their dedicated team, who are always a pleasure to work with and delivered seamless service throughout.
The Contraband band and the stunning Photo Wall by Dancing Diamond Events for the entertainment factor.
Our brilliant compere Darren Lethem.
Collectively, the following businesses were instrumental in us being able to deliver a cost-effective event, whether it was support with table décor (Thompson Construction), the welcome drink (Total Food Services), or donating the absolutely incredible array of raffle and auction prizes – you ALL delivered the magic!

Keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of weeks for the photos that we’ll be sharing, taken by our brilliant photographer James Hines, 3rd Eye Photography, who donated his time free of charge to capture the evenings magic.
Thank you – you are all incredible and We Can’t Smile Without You!
