We are thrilled to announce that The Hinge Centre charity has received a grant from HEY Smile Foundation of over £5,852 to kickstart an essential support group at the Crown Community Centre, Quay Road, Bridlington. This incredible initiative, named “Us Women,” will be held on the first Tuesday of every month.
The inspiration behind this much-needed group came from Clare Webb, a Breast Cancer survivor and Hinge Session Worker. During her cancer treatment journey, Clare noticed the lack of available services, which motivated her to create a safe space for others facing similar challenges.
We couldn’t be prouder to support such a meaningful project. Jamie Lewis, Smile Chief executive, said: “We are happy to be able to give the Hinge a grant to run such a worthwhile project. We believe the group will help people who have had cancer, or those having cancer treatment to feel connected and listened to.”
The next “Us Women” session is on Tuesday, 5 September. It will be open for drop-ins between 17:30-19:00. If you or anyone you know could benefit from this empowering support network, please help us to spread the word.
