New website will be a one-stop-shop to transform volunteering in Hull & the East Riding

A website linking volunteers with opportunities that make a difference has been launched. Time2Volunteer is a new Volunteer Partnership to answer the regions volunteering needs. It is funded and delivered by Hull CVS, HEY Smile Foundation, Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council, and supported by Partners.

Volunteers will be able to search for opportunities, and organisations in need of volunteers and will be given access to volunteer management tools to help them with everything from promoting volunteer opportunities, to the recruitment and management of volunteers.

Time2Volunteer will also help people connect with each other to share and celebrate their experiences.

Matt Wright, Head of Community Development at Hull CVS said: “With Time2Volunteer, everything is under one roof. We put the volunteer at the heart of all we do, to support and connect volunteers with their communities.  Until now there has been no central system that helps volunteers to browse opportunities as if they were looking for a job. We are also proud to say that ourselves and HEY Smile Foundation we will be supporting organisations that recruit volunteers, so they feel confident and happy with the experience. Time2Volunteer can help our region become a better place to live and work.”

Tessa Wray, Partnerships Manager at HEY Smile Foundation said: “We’re delighted to be launching the Time2Volunteer platform. It’s been a fantastic piece of work to be involved with over the last year.  The continued commitment from the Partners across all sectors is testament to how much a platform of this nature is needed to support and improve volunteering across Hull and the East Riding.

The Pandemic showed a real appetite for people to give back and the situation in the Ukraine is another example of people wanting to help where they can. Our aim was to provide a one stop shop for volunteering, to make it easier for people to volunteer, giving them choice, to find the right opportunity for them. At the same time, making it easier for volunteer organisations to recruit much needed volunteers, providing a platform to showcase their amazing organisations and the difference volunteers can make to them.”

Volunteers will be able to search for opportunities available in Hull and East Yorkshire, and filter by causes, suitability, and skills. They can find the role that best suits them, without having to search on multiple platforms or enquire with individual organisations.

Volunteers will have their own profile where they can join organisations whose opportunities are of interest. They can apply to and manage volunteer opportunities, capturing their hours and achievements, which forms their volunteering social CV.

Time2Volunteer enables groups of any size to advertise and promote available volunteer roles and opportunities. Time2Volunteer gives organisations access to a free volunteer management system, where they can manage volunteer applications, opportunities and timesheets. It also gives access to a library of volunteering resources to support volunteer recruitment and management, and serves as a place to share news stories, events, case studies and celebrate volunteering.
