Team Smile is involved in so many events we need an extra pair of fun-loving hands to join our team.

No day is the same at Smile as we work hard to support charities and community groups across Hull and East Yorkshire. Part of our objectives sees us working as event partners on huge local events like the Humber Bridge Half Marathon and the Humber Bridge Soapbox Derby. These large-scale days involve an incredible amount of organisation, quick reactions and continuous supplies of energy.

Smile also coordinates some of the most prestigious events on the local golfing calendar and the infamous Smile Red and Black Ball – a gigantic fundraising evening, with prizes like trips to New York and Las Vegas, plus thousands of pounds worth of jewellery.

As a foundation set-up to give smaller charities and community groups a bigger voice, solid foundation and equip them with the tools they need to thrive, we refuse to work in a bog-standard, traditional way. We’re all about thinking outside of the box, having fun and championing our communities where they need it the most. Smile is about pushing others into the limelight, propelling charities such as Men In Sheds Hull and Downright Special into sparkling futures.

At Smile, we love what we do and truly believe we do it well. We’re not your average team, so we’re looking for expressions of interest from non-average people. We want people who aren’t fazed by challenges and can do everything from ordering hay and finding entertainment, to presenting on stage to hundreds of people. You’ll also need to be all over the nitty-gritty details like timings, insurance and appropriate procedures.

Most importantly you’ll need to be resourceful with excellent contacts. If you’ve been to university, that’s great, if you haven’t that’s fine too. What we’re looking for is someone to fit in with the Smile team, with at least three years’ experience of events, who wants to get stuck into everything. As a team, our most dynamic members are constantly in touch, texting exciting ideas, sharing links and pushing Smile to another level.

For the right person, we can offer an excellent package, including 25 days’ annual leave, pension and a role we genuinely think is pretty special. We’re based in Hull city centre and work across East Yorkshire. You’ll need to be able to work flexibly with some work on a weekend and evenings.

The successful person will also be able to be part of a team developing new ideas from scratch and bringing them to life.
