SMILE TO BE SUPPORTED BY THE AMY JOHNSON FESTIVAL BIG MOTH CHARITY AUCTION
Many of the Amy Johnson Moths are going up for sale in a public auction on May 6th 2017 and will be sold to the highest bidders.
The Amy Johnson Festival marked the 75th anniversary of the death of Amy Johnson, Hull’s very own flying heroine, and one of the most inspirational women of the 20th century.
Funds raised in the auction will be split between the Amy Johnson Arts & Engineering Awards, which will assist future creative projects across the region, and the HEY Smile Foundation.
Smile is delighted to be supported by the Big Moth Charity Auction, Andy Barber, Smile’s Charity Director, said:
“Many individuals and families have had a fantastic time looking for the Moths across Hull and beyond, and we are extremely honoured to be part of the Moths’ journey.
“The funds raised will enable the legacy of the Moths to continue throughout the community, via our new Innovation fund for charities across Hull and East Yorkshire, which will be matched with our skills and the resources of the business community.”
The auction will be held at the Mercure Royal Hotel in Hull city centre, on Saturday May 6th. Proceedings will be conducted by Hull’s leading auction house, Gilbert Baitson, commencing at 2pm.
