SMILE’S VAULT LENDS OUT OVER 1200 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT IN 2016
The Smile Foundation’s popular Vault service, which is a library of free equipment for charities in Hull and East Yorkshire, has lent out over 1200 items in 2016.
The Vault has over 170 registered members, ranging from arts groups and community libraries to photography clubs, items available include everything from gazebos and projectors, to giant games and microphones.
One of Smile’s primary objectives is to support charities and community groups with their delivery; the Vault ensure all groups have access to the resources needed to enhance everything from their fundraising to group meetings.
John Palmer, from Anlaby Park Community Library, said: “We used a variety of equipment from the Vault at our summer fair this year, and we were delighted to have over 1200 people attend and raise £4736.20 to help keep our community library open.
“The items we borrowed from the Vault helped us put on many more activities – the giant games were a big hit!”
The most popular items in 2016 were chairs, tables, gazebos and giant games. Smile is delighted with the positive impact the Vault is having on our local communities.
