SEED FUNDING UP TO £500

Funding to support community-led solutions to improve health and wellbeing of adults. This grant programme is looking to support start-up groups with the help of a constituted group and is known as seed funding.

Building Community Health Grants Seed Funding: £500

This element of Building Community Health Grants will ‘seed’ community-led ideas, while facilitating local support to help with planning. It’s appropriate for a group of individuals with an initial idea to improve the health of local people, bringing them together to learn from the experience.

Examples: There might be a need to develop a local peer support group for people with a specific health condition. Or to encourage a positive lifestyle change by developing something new, or removing a berrier to participation.

How to Apply

NURTURE FUNDING UP TO £1500

This funding is for small constituted groups with the potential to create big differences within their community in need of nurture.

Overview: Applying organisations need to have a strong connection to their community. They should be aware of what could make a difference to a person’s health and wellbeing and ready to try something new in response to observations within the community.

Example: You already support adults with a specific need in your community, but notice you could do more to help them. You have discussed the idea but are in need of new resources, training and support to make it happen.

How to apply:

At anytime you can contact the Smile Community Hive team or your local East Riding Social Prescribing team to discuss your application further. Both teams are keen to listen to ideas and make connections that might help develop your approach. A development plan should be in place before submitting your application, which either of the teams can help you with. 

Fundable items: Materials and consumables, room hire, travel, equipment, volunteer expenses, DBS checks, insurance, training costs and utilities/running costs.

Timescales: open grant programme, decisions within six weeks or less.

BLOSSOM FUNDING UP TO £3000

This funding is to enable a new adult social care innovation to blossom. It will help attract further investment and bring partners together to create shared learning.

Overview: With a deep understanding and track record of responding to adult social care needs, your organisation is in need of further investment to deliver a bigger impact. Funding might create new learning and attract additional resources – this could be explored further with the help of the Community Hive Team.

Example: You are currently delivering strong adult social care outcomes but could do more if a new resource was in place to create efficiencies.
